Titian

Interviewer: This is Joseph Ekberg and I will be interviewing Titian one of the greatest painters in the Renaissance.

Q: Where were you born?

A: I was born a very small village in the Dolomite range of the Alps near Bullumo.

Q: What special talents do you have, and how did you get them?

A: Well I have always had a skill with the paintbrush. I have had a great time working with the Republic of Italy. I never have really done any other jobs than paint.

Q: What are your most famous works/deeds?

A: Well the painting that really brought me into the art business was sacred and profane love. Then I really earned my reputation with the picture assumption of the virgin. And my best portrait was the man with the glove.

Q: How did your work change the way people lived in the Renaissance?

A: Well I didn’t do much for my people. Though I think that art is about making the world more beautiful. I also have done a little for the Christian church. I have painted a few big altar pieces for them. I have also made a few pictures about myths.

Q: What impact do you believe your work will have on the future?

A: Well I hope that it will keep art going and keep people painting.

Q: Who is the first person that you worked with?

A: I first worked with Giorgione a very famous painter.

Q: When Giorgione died you had to finish many of his paintings, who do you think deserves the credit for those paintings?

A: Well I think that I do because they would have never left his shop if it wasn’t for me.

Q: Were you excited when you became the painter of the Republic of Italy?

A: Oh yes I almost jumped out of skin when I was sad that Bellini died but when I was the painter of Italy I was fanatic.

Interviewer: Thank you Titian I hope that you have enjoyed this and you are making a great contribution to the world.
